KID'S FEVER : WORRY OR RELAX

In this 21st century where fever is very common among us, we often neglect that at times it could be a serious issue but having said that, sometimes it won't be as serious as we may have thought. So as an individual, as a parent and as a responsible human beings, we must understand what all steps to taken at what situation in that particular time.

There is always a line between myths and facts, thus an individual needs to have the relevant information.
1.Myth : The exact number of temperature is useful for assessing.
Fact :  How the child looks and acts is the important part of assessing. For   Example a child who has mild fever and unwell response is more                   concerning than the child who appears well and has high fever.
2. Myth  : Fevers are bad for kids.
Fact : A fever is just a sign that the body's immune system is activated. Most         fevers have a beneficial effect other than your child's discomfort.
3. Myth : Fever need to be treated with medication.
Fact : It's not true as medication is only seen as an option when the child is in        discomfort other than that, there's no need to take medication.
4. Myth : Fever should always respond to ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
Fact  : ibuprofen and acetaminophen may not always respond as it only                  decreases 1°C or 2°C and may not bring back the temperature to normal and        the fever may still continue.
5.Myth Treating the fever will prevent febrile seizures.
Fact Treating fever will not treat febrile seizures as it usually runs in           families and are likely to happen at the beginning of your childs infection.

What to do if your kid has fever ?
Unless and Untill a kid has a high fever and feels uncomfortable due to the same reason, parents shouldn't give any special medicines to the kid, if it's not prescribed by the doctor. Kids should never take an aspirin to treat fever because it could lead to rare and a serious illness.
